E’ probabile che i colloqui tra il presidente degli Stati Uniti Joe Biden e il leader cinese Xi Jinping questa settimana e l’accordo per ripristinare le comunicazioni militari miglioreranno la stabilità nello Stretto di Taiwan. Lo ha detto Morris Chang, inviato di Taipei al vertice Apec di San Francisco.
“Penso davvero che sia stato un buon incontro, è stata una buona notizia che abbiano ripreso le comunicazioni militari”, ha affermato Chang. “Penso – ha aggiunto – che ciò dovrebbe aiutare a ridurre la tensione tra Stati Uniti e Cina, e dovrebbe aumentare la stabilità dello Stretto di Taiwan”, ha sottolineato Chang, fra l’altro fondatore della Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
