Sei sbarchi di migranti durante la notte a Lampedusa dove sono approdati in 394. I soccorsi sono stati portati a termine da Guardia di finanza, Capitaneria di porto e Frontex. Ieri, in tutti, sull’isola, ci sono stati 19 approdi con un totale di 903 persone. Nel dettaglio dalla mezzanotte sono arrivati in 50, originari di Gambia, Guinea, Senegal, Mali e Ghana. Sono partiti da Sfax, in Tunisia. A seguire sono approdati in 136 siriani, egiziani, libanesi, etiopi, pakistani, bengalesi, eritrei e somali, imbarcati lunedì sera da Sabratha, in Libia; 61 bengalesi, egiziani, pakistani e siriani e 52 egiziani e siriani, salpati da Zuara. In 26 ore, a Lampedusa, sono sbarcate 1.202 persone. L’hotspot torna ad affollarsi e al momento ospita 1.430 migranti. In mattinata programmato il trasferimento di 230 con il traghetto di linea per Porto Empedocle. (AGI)

The Lampedusa hotspot, with a capacity to host about 650 people, is managed by the Italian Red Cross (CRI). The center is intended to provide preliminary reception, identification and triage for migrants and refugees arriving on the tiny southern Italian island. Located in the Mediterranean between Malta and Tunisia, Lampedusa is a transit point for migrants from Africa, the Middle East and Asia seeking a better life in Europe. Upcoming 20 June 2023 marks World Refugee Day under the theme 'hope away from home'. The annual international day celebrates the people around the glove who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.
